What we’re doing for homeschooling Second Grade (2016-2017, although we school year round, so it doesn’t follow a traditional school calendar)
We finished our First Grade curriculum in February, and instead of taking an extended break, we went right into our Second Grade curriculum, beginning that in February 2016. Son “G” will turn 7 in July 2016, and will officially be a second grader as of August 2016
I also have two younger daughters, “H” turning 5 in June 2016, and baby “M” who will be 2 in August 2016. H will start her Kindergarten year in August 2016, so that will be my first time really trying to teach two students at once.
Continuing this year will be All About Spelling, using Level 3, and moving up to Level 4 if necessary.
We’ll also be continuing to use Math Mammoth, supplementing it with Mathematical Reasoning.
We’re wrapping up his second year as a Spark in Awana, and plan to join it again in the fall for his final year of Sparks. We’re also continuing with taekwondo, and as of February 2016 G is a blue belt.
